Directed Communications: Workday Human Resources changes

Overview

On December 19, 2024, Banner HR will stop accepting employee changes and the data will be converted to Workday. This will require a change in the data source for Directed Communications from Banner to Workday. This will require an outage to perform this change.
 

Details

Due to the change in the system providing Employee information to Directed Communications, there will be new Data Extensions provided with Workday Employee data to replace the old Banner HR Employee-related Data Extensions. A mapping of the old to new Data Extensions is provided here: Data Extensions Crosswalk
 

Communications

  • Emails will be sent during the month of December with this information and a link to this KB article
  • The marketing cloud login link www.unh.edu/marketingcloud will be redirected to a splash page that summarizes this KB Article and provides a link to it.  
  • On January 6, 2025, from 5-9 pm, the marketing cloud login link www.unh.edu/marketingcloud will be redirected to a splash page that states that Directed Communications will be unavailable and provides a link to this KB article.
     

Timeline

  • Banner HR-related employee data extensions will be frozen as of Dec. 19, 2024. No changes to Employee lists during the freeze.
  • Directed Communications will be unavailable during an outage window on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 5pm-9pm EST to move user permissions from the old Banner to the new Workday Data Extensions.
  • Users of Directed Communications should not pre-schedule sends to employees during the outage window because the old data extensions will no longer be available.  Please plan accordingly.
  • All communications to USNH Employees using Directed Communications after 9pm January 6, 2025, should use the new Workday Data Extensions.
