Your home page is the first page you see when you open your web browser. Whether you prefer a search engine, your favorite website, or a custom dashboard, setting your home page allows you to personalize your browsing experience. This article details how to set up the home page in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari for both Windows and MacOS users. 

Note: To set Workday as the homepage in your browser, use URL:  https://wd5.myworkday.com/usnh/login.htmld  as the custom web address or URL in the instructions below.

Google Chrome

Task: To set up a Home Page for Google Chrome

Instructions

Step 1Open Google Chrome and click on the three vertical dots  in the upper-right corner of the window.

Step 2 - Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3 - Under the Appearance section, toggle the switch for Show home button to turn it on.

Step 4 - Choose either New Tab page or Enter custom web address to set a custom web address as your home page.

To set Workday as your homepage, choose Enter custom web address and type:  https://wd5.myworkday.com/usnh/login.htmld  into the Custom Web Address field. Press Enter to save your changes.

 

Outcome

You now have a customized Home Page. This page will appear every time you launch your browser.

Microsoft Edge

Task: To set up a Home Page for Microsoft Edge

Instructions

Step 1Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three horizontal dots  in the upper-right corner of the window.

Step 2 - Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3 - In the left-hand menu, click on Appearance.

Step 4 - Under the Customize toolbar section, toggle the switch for Show home button to turn it on.

Step 5 - Click the Set button URL next to the switch

Step 6 - Choose either New tab page or Enter URL to set a custom web address as your home page.

To set Workday as your homepage, choose Enter URL and type:  https://wd5.myworkday.com/usnh/login.htmld  into the URL field. Click Save to save your changes.

Outcome

You now have a customized Home Page. This page will appear every time you launch your browser.

Mozilla Firefox

Task: To set up a Home Page for Mozilla Firefox

Instructions

Step 1Open Mozilla Firefox and click on the three horizontal bars  in the upper-right corner of the window.

Step 2 - Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3 - In the left-hand menu, click on Home.

Step 4 - Under the Homepage and new windows section, choose either Blank page or Custom URLs to set a custom web address as your home page.

To set Workday as your homepage, choose Custom URLs and type:  https://wd5.myworkday.com/usnh/login.htmld  into the Paste a URL... field.  Press Enter to save your changes.

 

Outcome

You now have a customized Home Page. This page will appear every time you launch your browser.

Apple Safari

Task: To set up a Home Page for Apple Safari

Instructions

Step 1 - Open Safari and go to Safari > Preferences from the top menu.

Step 2 - In the General tab, find the Homepage field.

Step 3 - Enter the web address you want to set as your home page.

Step 4 - To use the webpage you are currently viewing, click Set to Current Page.

Step 5 - Choose when your homepage is shown by selecting options from the New windows open with and New tabs open with dropdown menus.
